I am delighted to have served as your local Councillor since 1991. Over the past four years , it has been a privilege to have been your Cabinet Member for Education, Sport, Leisure, the Youth Service and the Arts.


DURING THIS TIME, I have:
*fought for the right of all our children to have access to the entire range of educational facilities, regardless of family circumstances;
*helped establish FREE access to sport and leisure facilities for less advantaged families, and those referred to us by their GPs;
*helped in the comprehensive refurbishment of our play areas;
*worked successfully with local residents' action groups in their fight against unwelcome planning developments;
*worked with the local Police by attending PACT and Neighbourhood Watch meetings;
*helped bring record investment to our libraries;
*helped bring parenting classes to our Community Centre;
* secured the local summer playscheme ;
*held regular surgeries and helped produce and deliver newsletters;
*dealt with constituents' complaints and queries, ranging from social services for young and old alike, road maintenance, homelessness and our local schools.

I am proud to have served for the past four years as your County Borough Councillor. As I live in the heart of the Morfa Ward, I have been well placed to receive and respond quickly to all your concerns.
During this time,

I HAVE:
*served as your County Borough Mayor;
*helped to secure Communities First status for Wildmill;
*as a Board Member of Valleys to Coast, fought for the interests of all our tenants and residents;
*attended local PACT meetings;
*held regular surgeries and contributed to local newsletters;
*dealt with a wide range of complaints and queries, including youth annoyance and homelessness;
*developed excellent working relations with all Council departments.
