Jackie Radford Personal Manifesto
Jackie has represented the Welsh Liberal Democrats at Local, Assembly, Parliamentary and European elections since joining us during the Ogmore by-election. She successfully took the Coity seat from Labour at the 2004 local elections. Currently working at the National Assembly for Wales as Political Researcher and PA to Eleanor Burnham, Assembly Member for North Wales, Jackie has previously worked in banking and for West Glamorgan Archive Service. Educated at Cynffig Comprehensive School, Jackie returned to education in the late 1980s and studied Sociology, Law and Modern History. She went on to gain two Bachelors Degrees with the Open University as well as a Diploma in Politics and Government before attending University of Wales, Swansea, to gain a Master’s Degree in American Studies. Jackie is now learning Welsh through the Open University. Jackie is an active member of the Welsh Liberal Democrats and sits on both Conference Committee and National Policy Committee. A past Secretary and Chair of Bridgend Local Party, Jackie is keen to have another opportunity to take the fight to Labour again in Ogmore after successfully moving the Welsh Lib Dems into second place at the 2005 General Election. Jackie will be a dedicated representative for the people of Ogmore and her priorities will be fighting for a fairer tax system, a fairer voting system and policies that create sustainable futures for the people of Ogmore. Originally from Cefn Cribwr, Jackie lives in Maesteg with her husband, Stephen. Her hobbies include photography and family history research and Jackie is Secretary of the Friends of Margam Park.
