Gerald Davies

Gerald has lived in
Porthcawl since 1966 and
has three children and
seven grandchildren.
An engineer by profession,
Gerald had a successful
career in the petrochemical
industry working
for ICI, British Gas and
Esso before joining BP
Chemicals Baglan Bay as a
Project Engineer/Manager
where he worked for over
25 years before retiring.
He has always involved
himself in community
issues and is a life member
and President of Rest Bay
Lifeguard Club, founder
member of Rest Bay
Management Group, panel
member of Nottage & Rest
Bay PACT and a member
of the Civic Trust.
He has been a member of
the Employment Tribunals
for England and Wales and
a Trustee and Chair of the
Glamorgan Holiday Hotel.
Gerald has served as a
member of Porthcawl Town
Council for over 25 years,
was Mayor in 1988/89 and
leader from 1991 to 1996.
He considers there has
been a huge value to Rest
Bay and Porthcawl in the
fact that, for most of that
time, he has also been a
member of Bridgend
County Borough Council.
