Cefn Glas Ward
I want to make a difference for you when you open your front door and make Cefn Glas a better place to live. Sadly it is no secret that local people and services are under pressure.
It’s good to know who you are voting for. I live in this community, and I have worked in the Port Talbot Steel works for 40 years. I have two children, one working, one in full time education. I have a record of working in the community for 25 years. I sit on your Community Council and am a Governor at Cefn Glas Infants School.
Cefn Glas is beginning to show signs of its age and neglect. Pavements and roads need resurfacing, areas of open space need tidying and trees and bushes need maintenance. As a member of your Community Council, I have been part of a team trying to make improvements - planting daffodils, installing grit bins, increasing the number of waste bins and reporting pot holes.
I share your concerns about the financial situation we find ourselves in and therefore I make no promises to you, I will always do my best for Cefn Glas and the people who live there. I will be on your side. In January your Community Council agreed to formulate a nature conservation plan for Cefn Glas, I am looking forward to being able to put its recommendations into action.
