Bryntirion & Laleston

Cllr Cheryl Green

BA (Hons) Dip Pol & Gov

Tel: 01656 659288

Cheryl has an honours degree in international politics and a diploma in politics and government and became interested in local politics whilst studying. She has been Leader of Bridgend Council since June 2004 and was previously leader of the opposition for five years. Cheryl has always maintained contact with the community she represents through regular Focus newsletter deliveries and attending any PACT and residents meetings. She is always available to anyone that needs to contact her. Cheryl has fought a number of campaigns for the ward including the famous Chicken Farm and the contentious Island Farm developments. Both of these were defeated and the will of the people prevailed despite overwhelming odds.

Cheryl currently sits on the governing body of Bryntirion Comprehensive and Trelales Primary. She has held the position of Welsh Local Government Association spokesperson on equalities for the last four years. She is very keen to continue representing the people of Bryntirion, Laleston, Broadlands and Merthyr Mawr and asks for you support in the forthcoming election on May 1st.
