We shall attempt to keep visitors updated on information regarding
these as we become aware of it, or as events unfold.
· Will the low frequency noise generated by the turbines be
an issue, especially at night? Are United Utilities prepared to prove
their claims - about an absence of noise - from modelling and base
line noise surveys?
· What will the sedimentation impacts be? Could the structures
cause erosion, which tends to be endemic around marine structures?
What could the potential coastal impacts be?
· What are the conclusions of the Environmental Impact Assessments,
and what comments might in future be made by critical reviews of the
EIAs?
· How will the turbines be arrayed, and what result will this
have on the view from various points on shore? Will this amount to
'visual pollution'?
· What effect will the turbines have on the tourist industry
in Porthcawl? Have any studies been made?
· Will the short term provision of jobs during the construction
period be offset by loss of jobs on land over the medium term?
· How will the presence of turbines affect the surf and surfing
off Porthcawl?
· What will the planning procedure be?
· Will any advantages to Porthcawl reveal themselves as more
facts become known?
