| Bernie Mc Leer has lived in Bridgend
since 1979. She moved from London with her husband and two children
to continue her job with Rockwool when they opened a factory at
Wern Tarw. Bernie worked for Rockwool for 22 years and retired in
2000.
Despite a busy and active working life she involved herself with
the local Scout Group and Air Cadets helping them to raise funds.
Lately she has managed the Community Centre at Bryntirion. Four
years ago she was elected to sit on Laleston Community Council
and is a school governor. Now a widow she is standing as a Borough
Councillor for Bryncethin and is looking forward to the challenge.
